Hey there. I'm Omer.
I've been coding since 4th grade, when my dad taught me BASIC and I got hooked. Since then I've written code in more languages than I can count, and it's still the part of my day I enjoy most.
My passion for application security started by accident, when I was offered the role of security champion. That journey taught me a lot, and it's still going. OWASP helped me along the way, so I became a paying member and led OWASP Glue. I spent years in DevSecOps, helping teams ship more secure software, including at Soluto and Snyk. I'm also a heavy open-source contributor, mostly to Kamus, a secret encryption solution for Kubernetes.
Along the way I gave a lot of talks, and wrote a lot about Kubernetes, CI/CD, and security. You can find those in the archive and on the talks page.
Since 2022 I've been at Ledge, where AI agents prepare the month-end close for finance teams. Learning what a real close looks like changed how I think about money, and I ended up running my own household the same way. That story is my latest post.
When I'm not working, I'm with my kids, or conquering the world in a strategy game. Budget-approved.
